The Italian Association of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (Acimall) reported that, due to a 15.5% decline in foreign orders, Italy’s woodworking machinery and tool orders fell by 9.9% in the second quarter of 2018. Meanwhile, domestic market performance remained positive, growing by 29.4%, which helped offset these figures. The association noted that the drop in exports from April to June 2018 was driven by new tariffs worldwide, rising energy costs, and financial instability in several emerging economies. Order volumes declined to 3.1 per month (compared with 3.4 in the previous quarter), while prices as of January 1 increased slightly, by 0.4%.
The Shanghai International Furniture Production Equipment and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition (2019 International Woodworking Show) officially opened today at Halls 7.1 and 8.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Hongqiao, Shanghai, China. In addition to showcasing equipment for furniture manufacturing, the event features dedicated zones for primary wood-processing machinery and artificial-board production equipment, covering a comprehensive range of solutions—from raw timber and finished furniture to pollution‑control systems. Continuing the partnership established in 2018, the International Woodworking Show is once again collaborating with the China International Furniture Expo (Shanghai), jointly integrating the upstream and downstream segments of the furniture industry to provide exhibitors and visitors with a more in-depth platform for professional exchange. Held concurrently from September 8 to 11, 2019, the two exhibitions are expected to bring together over 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, attracting more than 150,000 visitors from across the globe during the four-day event.

After years of steady growth, the Shanghai Woodworking Machinery and Accessories Exhibition has become a leading market‑driving benchmark for the industry. The sixth edition will be held from July 5 to 7, 2016, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, running concurrently with ESBUILD—the 27th Shanghai Green Building & Building Materials Expo—and WOODEXPO 2016—the 7th Shanghai International Wood Industry Trade Fair. With a total exhibition space exceeding 150,000 square meters and an expected attendance of 120,000 visitors, this year’s event will once again showcase cutting‑edge woodworking machinery. The organizing committee is actively inviting domestic and international brands to participate. Leveraging its extensive experience and ongoing promotional efforts, the fair is poised to serve as a vital platform for industry development, attracting manufacturers of wood products, furniture, flooring, cabinets, doors, staircases, and other wood‑based goods; as well as interior design firms, building‑materials suppliers, timber markets, domestic distributors, multinational purchasing groups, and international traders—providing them with an ideal venue for networking, sourcing, and collaboration. First launched in 2011, the Shanghai Woodworking Machinery Exhibition has been a prominent annual fixture in Shanghai. We warmly invite industry professionals to stay tuned, lend their support, and join us.
